We need pets
Why do you have pets? I have them in my life because there would be a great big hole without them. They remind me to stay active. Help me remember to play. Make me laugh; even when I didn’t feel like it; until then anyway. They give that unconditional love that is so rare in humans. All. The. Time.

Be more active
Maybe you want to be more active? Having another being that you need to take care of, walk, and exercise will absolutely make you more active. You can’t just sit on the couch if your dog wants out, Can you? And if any of your pets needs exercise, you are both better off finding productive ways to exercise rather than let them find their own methods. Save your couch or shoes!
Joy of competition
Possibly doing agility with your dog or barrel racing your horse, or other sports that you do with your pet, are goals of yours. Sports help you form a partnership with your pet; one that spills over into the rest of your life. And they aren’t good at pretending to like something. They also aren’t likely to fake understanding. Sports or other team (human/pet) activities require a level of understanding from each other. Reaching a goal with your pet is such an accomplishment. You think of things in a new way when you connect with your pet. Having a one-on-one relationship with them can be so fulfilling. They have an ability to focus on you instead of the worries of the world. If you pay attention, you can connect on a soul level.Pets improve our lives in so many ways.
